I am currently an Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering department at the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa. Previously, I was a postdoctoral research associate in the Faboratory in Mechanical Engineering and Material Science department at the Yale University.
Prior to this, I did my Doctoral studies in the Monolithic Systems Lab at Industrial and Enterprise Systems Engineering department at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. For my PhD, I worked on the design of deformable mechanical metamaterials. More details about my research can be found in my research page.
Before joining PhD, I did Masters in Aerospace Engineering at UIUC with specialization in Dynamics and Control Systems. And I obtained Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from Amrita Vishwa Vidhyapeetham in Kerala, India.
My broad research areas of interest are Complaint Mechanisms, Soft robotics, Mechanical Metamaterials, Soft materials, Theoretical mechanics and Design of Mechanical and Mechatronic systems.
